Stainless steel wire for high strength spring
In the application of high-strength spring, the early piano steel wire is more common, but the corrosion resistance is very poor. Chromate treatment is required for rust prevention. In the past, crude steel zinc coating was given to make it self-corrosion resistant, but chromate treatment must be carried out after plating in order to prevent discoloration caused by its placement in the atmosphere. Chromate treatment is the chemical treatment of the coating, and the coating contains hexavalent chromium. From the perspective of environmental protection, it is problematic.
High strength stainless steel wire can solve this problem. When the high tensile spring wire is cold worked, by controlling the dense strain martensite structure, it can maintain good toughness and become a high-strength stainless steel wire for spring comparable to piano steel wire.
Because it belongs to austenite system, it has good corrosion resistance and is a very environmentally friendly material. Its main features are:
(1) Excellent corrosion resistance
As for corrosion resistance, austenitic stainless steel is the same general-purpose stainless steel as SUS304.
(2) Good tensile strength
It has the tensile strength comparable to the piano steel wire. In the field of thin wire diameter, it has the strength and elasticity comparable to the piano steel wire B.
(3) High spring fatigue strength
Compared with the past stainless steel wire for spring, the spring design under high stress is possible and the fatigue strength is excellent.
(4) Excellent resistance to residual strain
The residual shear strain (residual stress) is very small and the dynamic elasticity is very excellent.
(5) Excellent heat resistance
Compared with piano steel wire, it has excellent heat resistance.
(6) Low cost
The cost of the material itself is slightly higher than that of piano steel wire, but the total cost including antirust treatment is cheaper. Especially in φ Below 0.2mm, because the material cost is lower than that of piano steel wire, the cost can be greatly reduced.
