After tightening, the tightened spring coil will no longer participate in the work. Therefore, as the degree of deformation increases, the number of spring coils participating in work will decrease, and the spring index will also develop towards a smaller direction, which makes the spring harder and harder to compress. So the characteristic line of the conical spiral spring is the line connecting a straight line and a curve. Conical springs can only be used as compression springs.
