3.11 Application example of cylindrical spiral compression spring

1) Figure 12-2-3 shows the toothed claw fall arrester of mine single rope lifting cage. When the mine cage rises and falls normally, the spring 2 is compressed, and the toothed claw 10 is always open. When the steel rope connected to the main boom or the main boom itself is broken, the compressed spring will automatically stretch, release the energy, drive the cross arm 6, drive the toothed claw 10 to rotate, and make the toothed claw clamp into the can rail 11. Under the cage load, the depth of the toothed claw clamp into the can rail will gradually deepen until the cage is braked and suspended on the can rail. This is the application of driving mechanism by using the energy stored when the spring is compressed.

2) Figure 12-2-4 shows the application of combined spring in the mechanical centrifugal full speed governor of automobile fuel injection pump. The inner spring is installed with a slight preload to meet the needs of speed regulation at low speed, so it is called idle spring 8. The middle spring is installed in a free state, leaving a gap of 2~3mm at the end. When the diesel engine runs at high speed, the inner spring and the middle spring act together, so the middle spring is called high-speed spring 9. When starting the diesel engine, the outer spring plays the role of enriching the oil volume, which is conducive to starting, so it is called starting spring 10. When starting the diesel engine, the first thing is that the starting spring acts to increase the oil volume, which is conducive to starting. When running at low speed, the outer spring and the inner spring work at the same time. In high-speed operation, the three springs act at the same time. Because the spring force of the middle spring is the largest, the middle spring mainly acts in high-speed operation.
